Itinerary
From Piano Vetore (about 1,750 mt) we will drive to the Altomontana runway (Etna south) where, between dirt and asphalted stretches, you will be able to enjoy in a relaxing way a MTB tour suitable even for those who, while not having an optimal workout, doesn’t want miss one of the most beautiful bike experiences that Sicily can offer… Etna volcano.
Technical specifications of the MTB tour: 2 hour itinerary, with technical characteristics and KM adaptable to the capacity of the group. Remember that it is always a physical activity, and as such, a physical condition is necessary, suitable for sporting pedaling.
We recommend this route to tourists who want a tour in MTB on the volcano Etna not binding (easy to carry out without the help of the E-MTB). If you are a real biker, and your intentions are to test yourself on the Etna volcano, we do not recommend this bike tour, but we recommend choosing one of the many other MTB tours on the Etna volcano, which can be selected on our website.

Etna E-MTB Tours – Basic and Advanced, is the E-MTB tour two in one, able to satisfy everyone’s needs, born from our desire to donate moments of relaxation on the Etna volcano.
Excursion with E-BIKE (electric MTB).
Excursion in E-Mountain Bike on Etna, lasting 2 hours (approximately).
Unique landscapes and paths that are never banal, make this E-MTB tour suitable for all people who want an e-bike path on the Etna volcano, rich in landscapes and indelible memories.
The careful selection of trails by our technical manager, allows us to offer them to less experienced cyclists, with the possibility of adapting them to different technical/physical capacities, and thanks help of E-Bikes, everything is made even easier.
We of Sicily Bike Tourist Service, thanks to our many years of experience in the tourist sector on bike, have deliberately chosen to give two options at a single price.
In fact, even if you book the Basic version, based on your technical and physical abilities, you will have the possibility to continue and transform the tour in E-MTB… in Advanced, at no additional cost.
If you want a simple mountain bike excursion that doesn’t necessarily put you to the test, the Basic version is the tour for you.
If you want something more than just a walk, or you simply want to dare more … we will know what to you offer, in fact once you arrive at the Galvarina Hut, the guide in charge of the service will be able to suggest, without any additional cost, to transform the Basic version, in Advanced, with a loop ride around the south-west side of the Etna volcano.
Description of Tours in E-MTB.
Basic Path
From Piano Vetore (about 1,750mt) we will drive in E-MTB to the Pista Altomontana (Etna south) through an easy path, free of large height differences, we will cross places characterized by lava scenery and breathtaking landscapes. We will stop at the Galvarina hut (about 1,850mt), once the break is over, we will descend along a sandy dirt road in direction of Monte Fontanelle, where, between woods and old lava flows, the adventure in E-MTB will come to life. Finally, a fantastic climb awaits us along one of the most characteristic trails of our volcano, but thanks to the help of ours E-MTB, nothing will seem so simple. Finally, the tour it will end at Piano Vetore, the starting point of the Tour.
Indicatively, this is the description of the Basic path, but at discretion of the guide in charge of the service, it will be possible to make the necessary changes to the tour, all to make it suitable for your technical/ physical abilities.
N.B. Basic path (with e-bike), technically accessible with normal physical and cycling preparation, which facilitated by the use of e-bikes will not put you to the test.
Duration of the tour cycled, including stops, 2 hours (approx.), km 16 (approximately).
E-MTB path: Medium/Easy, 100% Off Road.
Advanced Path
From Piano Vetore (about 1,750mt) we will drive in E-MTB to the Pista Altomontana (Etna south) through an easy path, free of large height differences, we will cross places characterized by lava scenery and breathtaking landscapes. We will stop at the Galvarina hut (about 1,850mt), once the break is over, we will descend along a sandy and very long dirt road in direction of Mount Leporello, where, between woods and old lava flows, the adventure in E-MTB will come to life, with paths wisely interspersed between challenging climbs and lava trails with a unique flavor, but thanks to the help of ours E-MTB, nothing will seem so simple. The tour will end after a last characteristic climb to Piano Vetore, the starting point of the Tour.
Indicatively, this is the description of the Advanced path, but at discretion of the guide in charge of the service, it will be possible to make the necessary changes to the tour, all to make it suitable for your technical/physical abilities.
N.B. Medium difficulty path (with e-bike), technically accessible with discrete physical and cycling preparation, which made easier by the use of e-bikes will not put you to the test.
Duration of the tour cycled, including stops, 2 hours (approx.), 20 km (approximately).
E-MTB path: Medium/Challenging, 100% Off Road.

Etna Mountain Bike Tour, MTB excursion on the Altomontana (Etna south/west about 2.000mt), with a visit to the cave of Nunziata Mount .
Itinerary
From Piano Vetore (Etna South about 1700mt) we will head in MTB along a path “off road” easy and with few technical and physical difficulties, called Pista Altomontana. We will guide you in one of the most “unique” scenarios of our beloved Etna, with stops at Galvarina Hut (1879mt) and Palestra Mount (1917mt), then continue the tour also passing by the famous Pagghiaru (hut once used as shelter for the shepherds of the area). The tour will continue until the cave of Mount Nunziata(1803mt) formed after the eruption of 1843, whose entrance is a steep slide and subject to landslides, which then turns into a vertical of about 7mt and gives access to a gallery of lava flow.
After the visit, we will return on our steps, but if the guide it deems appropriate will add a bit of vivacity to the tour, using variants suited to your technical and physical skills; however, making sure that the maximum total duration of the tour (pedaling) is about 3 hours.
Technical specifications of the MTB tour: The difference in level not excessive, it would enable him to be entered in the category of Mountain Bike Easy tours, but this is not possible, because the route used for the return (in principle equal to the first leg) it is characterized by a climbing that, from the cave of Nunziata Mount up to the refuge of Palestra Mount, could put in trouble some cyclist not fully trained.We remind you that our MTB tours are usable ONLY with exclusive booking (we don’t perform tours of groups of people unrelated to each other), this means that the guide in charge of the service will not put any pressure on the timing. The elements indicated above are indicative and useful to make you aware of the difficulty of the trail.
